Heritage Month is a time to reflect on the rich cultural diversity that makes South Africa so special, and this year, it holds even greater meaning as we celebrate 30 years of democracy. The Happy Company is thrilled to join the nation in honoring this milestone, embracing the beauty of our differences, and recognizing the deep connections that bring us together. Just like our heritage is shaped by the breathtaking landscapes around us—from the rugged Karoo to the snow-capped Drakensberg and the powerful waves of our coastline—our happiness is shaped by the people, places, and traditions that make life in South Africa truly unique.

This Heritage Month, we’re excited to launch “Happy in George”, a new chapter in The Happy Company’s journey to spread joy and connection. As citizens of this incredible town, we know that happiness is found in the little things—the shared laughter at a local market, the warmth of a sunset over the Outeniqua Mountains, and the simple joy of community. Through “Happy in George,” we’ll explore and celebrate what brings us happiness right here at home, from cultural gatherings to everyday moments that remind us how fortunate we are to be part of this beautiful, diverse country.

At The Happy Company, our mission is simple: to spread “happy-ness.” And what better way to do that than by embracing the stories, traditions, and experiences that make South Africa—and George—so special? As we celebrate Heritage Month, we invite you to join us in discovering and sharing what makes you happy. Whether it’s a favorite meal, a cherished tradition, or a hidden gem in our town, let’s celebrate together. Here’s to 30 years of freedom, the joy of heritage, and many more happy moments ahead!
